Learning in Action at Leesland
The aim of the Learning in Action sessions is to provide you with a chance to come into school and see what lessons are really like for your children. The idea is that you will be able to work alongside your child and spend some quality time with them finding out what school is like for your child. You can see what they really get up to in school! The sessions will be a sample of what lessons are usually like for your child, rather than a showcase of work or a presentation from the teacher. The lessons will be part of the normal learning journey for the children in the class.
We aim to vary the days and times for the session over the year to help working parents. We do not expect parents/carers to come to all sessions and will endeavour to explain to children that not all parents/carers will be able to come. From past experience, as an average across the schools, about half the class have someone attend any one of the sessions, so please do not worry if you cannot attend one of the sessions. The sessions are part of the usual school day, and we are unable to accommodate pre-school siblings or pushchairs in the classes.
We understand that not every child will be able to have someone attend every Leesland Learning in Action session which is why we run them termly, with the aim that every child will be able to have someone attend as least once a year. Grandparents and other family members are welcome to attend, but we must limit numbers to a maximum of two adults per child or the classrooms will be overflowing!
We really hope as many of you as possible are able to attend at least one session this year- we are sure you will find them useful - and that your child will enjoy the opportunity for you to work together.
For safeguarding and Health & Safety reasons, you will be asked to sign in and out when you attend a session.
We look forward to welcoming as many of you as possible to these sessions.
