Some Year 2 children embraced the challenge of signing up to do the Year 2 Civic Award.
Over 10 weeks the children had to complete a series of challenges that were aimed at personal development and serving their community.
The children did some amazing work around the infant school grounds, weeding and planting up new containers together with clearing out weeds in the allotment area and in Daisy Lane.
Working with Rev Watson we were able to spend a couple of afternoons at St Faiths Church helping out with two of their community projects. All the children were really good at cleaning toys for their Playgroup and sorting children clothes into sizes for their Swap Shop.
Children have done some brilliant things at home, putting others first and completing tasks that are not normally expected of them. They have also spent time recording their activity time with some children taking up new hobbies.
The children were rewarded with a trip to the Junior School to use the pirate ship and their parents were invited into school this week to see their child presented with a well-deserved certificate and medal.
