Year 2 Sea City Trip

 Every year as part of our Full Steam Ahead – Titanic topic, we arrange a trip to SeaCity Museum in Southampton. This year we will be going on Thursday 11th February 2027.  

 The children really enjoy this topic, and the visit allows them to find out more about the crew of the Titanic through both the guided tour with a member of the education team and a self-guided tour with the teachers.   

 In addition to these tours, the visit includes a hands-on workshop, where the children participate in a range of activities. These include a science experiment to see if they can stop the Titanic sinking, handling artefacts and understanding what they were used for, as well as problem solving to decide who gets to go in a lifeboat.   

The cost of this trip is : 

Entry to Seacity Museum, workshop and discovery package : £451 

Coach travel to and from Seacity Museum : £650 

Total Cost : £1,101 Cost to each child : £18.60  

Consent, full payment and payment instalments can be made via Arbor with the full amount due by February 1st 2027. At the discretion of the Head of Schools and Executive Head, the trip may be cancelled if there are insufficient voluntary contributions as we depend on these to make the activity financially viable.   

The coach will be leaving school at 9.10am and we will be back in school by the end of the day. The children need to wear school uniform and have a waterproof coat.  If you know your child may need any type of medication (including inhalers) please ensure that it is in school.      

 If your child requires a school packed lunch this can also be ordered via the form.  However, these orders must be placed by Monday 24th January 2027. 

Each class will need some additional adults to support groups.  If you are able to accompany us on the trip, we would be very grateful.  Please indicate this on the online form and someone from the year team will be in touch with you.  Please note that our Federation policy means that although you will be helping with your child’s class, they will not be in your group.
