Who are Helping Angels? We are people just like you! Parents, ex-parents, grandparents, carers and some school staff.

What do Helping Angels do? We work together as volunteers to raise funds and to support and provide other events for the children of Leesland Federation Infant and Junior schools, and we have fun! We also work on joint events such as the Summer Show!

How much time do I have to give? It’s completely up to you. You are very welcome to join the committee and help organise events during the year or you can offer to help out for an hour or so at an event we hold. As a thank you, if you help out regularly, you are offered discounts on the costs of some events for your children.

How often do you meet? Helping Angels meet on the 2nd Monday of each month and meetings are held  in the junior school at 9am. There is a bit more room there! You don’t have to attend every meeting!

What is the money used for? Our aim each year is to raise money to help provide the extras that the schools budget cannot afford. In the past we have provided: Digital cameras, library rug, story sacks, CD Players, out-door lunchtime play equipment, garden parasols, television with stand, books for the Bug Club, Jubilee Book marks and a contribution to the infant trim trail. We have also provided listening stations, leather settees for the junior library, wet play equipment and more recently, the ladder on the pirate ship in the juniors.

We also provide the Y2 moving-on party and the Y6 leavers event.

How do Helping Angels raise the money? By organising many fun events throughout the school year. In the past these have included: Summer Barbecues, Discos, Mothers and Father’s day Tea and many more!

We are always looking for new ideas so if any come to mind then please let us know.

What else do we do? We organise yearly activities for the children in school to aid their learning and enjoyment such as: Christmas Shop at Christmas, Christmas parties, Easter Egg Hunts and Y2 moving-on & Y6 leavers’ parties. Also we help at sports day and one off events as and when they happen. Some ‘Angels’ can be seen in the school every week helping in the classrooms.

We also help to organise and ‘man’ crèche’s for parents meetings, assemblies and ‘stay & play’ whenever possible. We are always looking for new ideas and people! If you would like to help out in any way or have any questions regarding the Angels please contact us through the school offices on:
