In Year 6, homework can be slightly different, as we near the SATs, and mainly takes the form of SATs revision. Parts of papers, SATs style questions and (by the end of the year) whole papers will be sent home so that children are as prepared as they can be for their tests. It also gives you an insight into the kinds of questions they face in their tests.
To help your child in maths, help them practise their times tables as these are essential for becoming fluent in and confident with the more complex methods used in year 6.
To help your child in English, ensure they are reading their reading books as much as possible and take time to question them on what they have read.
Spring 1 Homework
Children will be bringing home a SPAG (spelling, punctuation and grammar) and Maths activity mat every week. This is to help prepare them for their upcoming tests.
Children will be lent revision guides, to take home, these will aid children in completing the homework sheets. We will also be offering a homework club, and children will be given the opportunity to talk to their class teacher if they require some additional help.
