We are very fortunate to have a mixed indoor and outdoor space in our school which we call Quad. 

We use Quad to offer small break and lunchtime groups for children who may find our main playground overwhelming at times.

Within these sessions, the adults running the play time use a range of intervention resources such as 'language for behaviour' or 'socially speaking' to support children's learning of harmonious play and social interactions. 

When necessary, we also use Quad as a sanction to support children who may be experiencing a short period of difficulty on our main playground. Whilst this may be a 'time out' for some pupils, we also offer bespoke interventions for these children in the form of concept cartoon work where the children's own drawings or cartoons can support their understanding of a social interaction to support positive resolutions. 

We are very proud of our inclusive offer at Leesland Juniors and Quad is another way we support children who use it to meet their own needs of wanting a quieter space, or who are directed to use our support to successfully integrate on the main playground.
