School Uniform

School Uniform

Wearing a school uniform encourages a sense of belonging, a feeling of pride and an identity with the school, as well as a sense of equality with all the other children. Please ensure that all clothing is labelled with your child’s name and checked regularly.

Our school uniform is as follows:

  •          Dark green jumper, sweatshirt or cardigan
  •          Dark grey/black tailored trousers or shorts (knee length shorts for girls, leggings are not permitted.)
  •          Dark grey/black skirt—extremes of length are not permitted
  •          White shirts/blouses or polo shirts
  •          Green/white checked or striped dress
  •          Black shoes with black, white, grey or green socks/tights
  •          Water-proof coat
  •          Wellington boots for Outdoor Learning /Forest School at the junior school (optional but advised)

There is no set summer or winter uniform:  combinations of the above can be worn at any time of year.  For example, a checked dress can be worn with thick tights and a cardigan in winter.

Hair should be of one natural colour, grade 2 or longer.  Long hair should be tied up whether girl or boy.

The only jewellery permitted is that for religious beliefs, stud earrings and sensible sized watch.

PE Kit

Your child will need plain green or black shorts and a plain t-shirt in your child's house colour.

For outdoor PE, trainers and tracksuits (in winter) are also required (leggings are not permitted.)

All children will need a pair of plimsolls.

Swimming shorts or one piece swimsuit, towel & hat for swimming.

Earrings must be taken out for PE and swimming.  If newly pierced, tape may be provided from home for PE.  Tape cannot be used in the swimming pool.

The following are not appropriate for school

  • Trainers or training style shoes, boots of any colour, backless or open shoes, or shoes with platforms or high heels.
  • Leisurewear including novelty or large hair accessories and novelty head bands.
  • Makeup, false nails and nail varnish/accessories.  Any pupils wearing these will need to remove it in their break time.

Purchasing Uniform

  • School jumpers and cardigans with the school logo are available to purchase from Print & Sew Station, 55 Stoke Road, Gosport and via the school offices.
  • Dark green jumpers and cardigans are also acceptable uniform and can be purchased relatively cheaply from local shops and supermarkets.
  • Polo tops, school trousers, skirts, shorts, shoes and green/white dresses can be purchased at local shops and supermarkets.
  • The federation PTFA, Helping Angels, regularly hold 'pre loved' clothes sales.
  • Jacobs Well, a local charity, stock a range of our school uniform for minimal cost.

Please speak to Tina Long or Becky Cooper, our Family Support Workers, if you are struggling to provide uniform for your child.  We may be able to help.
