St. Marys Sailing Club
St. Mary's Junior Club has been a feature of the parish of Alverstoke for over fifty years.
It has a membership of fifty children aged nine to fifteen who learn to sail and row whilst
having an enjoyable time with their friends. This takes place each Saturday and Sunday afternoon throughout
the summer months under the watchful eye of experienced adults and with the help of parents.
There is a fleet of sixteen boats for the use of the members supported by two patrol boats and
a kayak for the use of supervising adults. Buoyancy aids and helmets are provided for the use of
members and these are checked annually and replaced as necessary.
Each year, the club offers taster sessions to pupils in the school and information will be posted
here. For more information about the Club, see www.smjsc.org.uk
