Safeguarding
We take Safeguarding very seriously at Leesland. Part of our core purpose is to keep all members of our school community safe, and feeling safe. It's really important that this is part of our school culture and that everyone fully understands their role in safeguarding themselves and others. If anyone has a concern, whether is a child or an adult, they know what to do about it and who to tell.
Please see our Child Protection and Safeguarding Policies in the policy section of this website. The documents below may also be of help.
If you would like to speak to someone at either school about Safeguarding, our Designated Safeguarding Leads are, Mrs Wigley, Mrs Livings, Mrs Long, Mrs Cooper and Mrs Hope.
Please see here for our policies, including Child Protection and Safeguarding.
Please note, whilst the government has removed the mandatory requirement for a Covid-19 specific risk assessment in schools and workplaces, we believe it is currently still good practice to retain ours. This supports our schools to have the following required baseline infection prevention and control measures in place that will help to manage the spread of infection:
- Ensuring all eligible groups are enabled and supported to take up the offer of national vaccination programmes including Covid-19 and 'flu. NHS - how to get a Covid-19 vaccine.
- Ensuring occupied spaces are well-ventilated and let fresh air in.
- Reinforcing good hygiene practices such as hand washing and cleaning.
Our swimming pool reopened for use by children other than Leesland pupils from Monday 19th April 2021, in line with Government guidance.
